Make Meaningful Changes in 2020

Blog

My, oh my. Just look how time flies! We’re almost at the end of 2018 – and as the holiday season is already in full swing, before we know it the new year will be upon us. Every year so many of us make ridiculous resolutions that we’re never going to stick to, and in fact, the stats back that up. Although it’s impossible to know for sure, some estimates say that a mere 8% of people actually stick to the promises they set themselves, which suggests making them in the first place is futile. No matter how well-meaning you are, setting impossible tasks for yourself always seems counter-productive.

So instead of setting yourself depressingly far-away targets for losing weight, earning money or anything else, why not simply make some small changes to your lifestyle that are less based on arbitrary goal setting, and more on simply enriching your life?

Pick up a new hobby

There’s no time like the new year to start picking up a new hobby, something you’ll actually enjoy. Of course, hobbies can have an end goal, but the beauty of them is that often they just give you something more fulfilling to do than just scrolling through endless screens. Perhaps you want to find something that can make you extra money.  If that is the case then Situs Poker Online is where you need to go.

Start reading again

Think back to childhood – did you read a hell of a lot more often than you do now? If that’s the case, then you’re not alone – leisure reading in the US is at an all time low, and it’s a similar story around the world. However, reading has a multitude of benefits, both intellectual and emotional. It eases stress, improves vocabulary, and just gives you a general sense of creativity – all things we are often seeking to expand our horizons. Reading makes for an excellent talking point, and in fact, you could even join a book club to discuss themes, and to meet like-minded people.

Make more time for loved ones

Family and friends are often the backbone of our lives. Sure, not all families are picture perfect, but the ones closest to you don’t have to be biologically related, and we can make our own families instead. Making time for others is a great distraction from pressures such as work, and strengthening our relationships is one of the most wholesome and genuine things we can do. It’s sometimes easy to forget what life is really about – and people matter above all else.

Life is about so much more than the numbers on the scale or the numbers in your bank account. Will 2019 be your year for meaningful change?
